Training Review - Weeks 41 & 42
I have finished my bike target miles for the year and am well on course to break my 2,200 mile stretch target as well. I am going to try and keep that number ticking along though so should end the year closer to 2,500 miles.
I did another race this weekend. The Aberdeen University Kings Aquathlon. I managed to get 4th overall, first vet (despite a better rank TeamGB athlete being there), and 2 minutes faster than last year. And yet I am disappointed. I swam pretty poorly, and by the time I was out of transition I had lost over 40 seconds on the eventual third place. And while I ran well enough to catch most of that back, it wasn't enough. Meanwhile, someone swam 2 minutes slower than me, but was able to run over 2 minutes quicker to take second place.
My hip is starting to bother me again. The injections I had at the start of the year have just about worn off now. I need to start chasing to get them redone again in time for next season.
